Champagne by the Glass

NV Louis Roederer ‘Collection 244’ Champagne, FR — 34
Based on the 2019 vintage, Roederer’s NV Brut Collection 244 is the finest release of the house’s reimagined non-vintage Brut to date. Offering up aromas of pear, peach and nectarine mingled with notions of white flowers, beeswax, freshly baked bread and buttery pastry, it’s medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with a pretty pinpoint mousse, racy acids and a long, chalky finish

NV Ruinart ‘Brut’ Champagne, FR On Coravin Sparkling — 45
With history going back to the early 1700s, it’s fair to say Ruinart have earnt their place amongst Champagnes’ most esteemed producers. This wine shows tremendous balance and complexity

2022 Cortese, Il Poggio di Gavi ‘Luna Sul Poggio’, Piedmont, IT — 23
It comes precisely from the hills where you can watch the moon descending towards the horizon, in the early hours of the morning. And this is the secret behind its name! Ripe pineapple, basil, marjoram, almonds, tangy

2022 Pinot Grigio, Albino Armani ‘Colle Ara’, Valdadige, IT — 22
On the nose it offers fruity notes with scents of pomegranate and peach. On the palate it is smooth and persistent, with a pleasant sapidity which is typical of the wines springing from this valley

2021 Bussanello, Crotin ‘Plisun’, Piemonte, IT — 18
A relatively obscure yet exciting variety from the northern fringes of the Langhe; bright citrus fruits and waxy texture

2023 Grillo, Feudo Montoni ‘della Timpa’, Sicily, IT — 22
Timpa is the name of the cru from which the grapes hail. The name has its origins in the Sicilian word, “timpa” meaning strong slope. In fact the vineyard climbs up a hill with a degree that exceeds 70%. Ripe peach, jasmine & almond flowers, persistent acidity

2022 Savagnin, Entropy ‘Willow Grove’, Gippsland VIC — 24
From Ryan and Ashlee Ponsford in their first self owned venture, this slightly oxidative Savaginin is an ode to wines of the Jura

2022 Chardonnay, Collector ‘Tiger Tiger’, Tumbarumba, NSW — 25
The wine is fresh on the nose with aromas of white flowers, grapefruit and flint. A changing and complex wine of depth and concentration that with time in the glass reveals lemon curd, brioche and spent matchsticks. The palate is focussed and mouth-filling
